On the road with Whiskey Grade

filed in Behind the Scenes, Creative Council, Influencers

A few weeks back, we asked the guys behind Whiskey Grade to give our Made in America Collection a test run. They suggested a road trip from New Hampshire to Wisconsin. On motorcycles. Let’s be real, is there any other way to test-drive a pair of boot than with an actual test drive? We think not.

We hooked up the team with a pair of our Jonesboro boots. They just so happen made in America with 100% materials sourced right here, at home, in the US of A. And of course, we couldn’t let them hit the open road without a trusty old standby of ours, the ever-popular Noxon boot.

After a couple thousand miles, the team sent us back some snaps from their journey. If only these boots could talk.

Fashion Week | Snapshots

filed in Behind the Scenes, Creative Council

As the flurry of various fashion weeks comes to a close, we took a minute to reflect. From New York, to London, to Milan and Paris, here’s a snapshot of our favorite fashion week moments over the past few weeks.

In New York, we hosted the Sanctuary – a cozy haven for fashion’s elite to relax and recharge from the chaos of Lincoln Center.

Helena Glazer of Brooklyn Blonde kicked off the week, taking over our Instagram and giving us a peek into how she stays comfy during #NYFW. She also shared how to pair some of our favorite moccasins with the perfect weekend ensemble.

To cap off the weekend, Arielle Nachmani of Something Navy hosted a luncheon in the lounge to catch up with friends and stay in the know with a live feed of the shows from the tents.

Until next time fashion week, we’re ready to kick back in our slippers and get some quality R&R.

Front Row at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week

filed in Behind the Scenes, Creative Council, Experts, Style

The beginning of September means one thing: Fashion Week. And this year rather than lament on all the fun we’ll be seeing around Fashion Week on Instagram – we decided to go to New York ourselves to get a firsthand look. To Lincoln Center. Yes, that Lincoln Center. Starting Thursday, The Sanctuary by UGG Australia will be a place where fashion’s elite and runway attendees can disconnect, recharge – and experience the comfort that #ThisisUGG is all about, all week long.

To bring This is UGG to life, the legendary & talented Scott Schulman of The Satorialist will document the small moments that make Fashion Week so special – stretching from New York, to London, Milan, and then finally Paris. He’ll be sharing images on his blog, Instagram and Twitter – giving us a sneak peek into the comings and goings of fashion’s elite.

But what’s fashion week without the fashion? To bring a bit of style to our Instagram, Helena Glazer of Brooklyn Blonde, will be taking over our feed on September 5th – showcasing her journey throughout one day of the hectic week.

Additionally, Swiss fashion blogger Kristina Bazan of Kayture will be lending us her sartorialist sensibility with a certain “je ne sais quoi” all her own.

Meet Jack Guinness

If Jack Guinness so desired, he could hit a different party every night. Judging by the reports in the press, the British model, DJ and columnist – recognizable by his trademark beard, dapper style and sharp wit – sometimes does just that. Often seen out and about with an arm slung around one famous friend or other, having the time of his life, he documents his escapades in his online diary.

It’s away from the flashbulbs, though, that the real Guinness emerges – where, as he says, “there’s no one to impress,” only an inner circle of we-go-way-back friends. The fun happens around Jack’s Bar, which sits front and center in his East London apartment. “It might sound like a weird idea, but it’s one of my better ones,” grins Guinness. “It’s become a big part of any night for me and my friends. When Jack’s Bar opens, that’s where friendships flourish.” Indeed – these are the moments when Guinness really relaxes, loosens his tie and settles in for what we all know is the best part of any night. “It’s just us, setting the world to rights, playing our favorite songs on repeat,” he enthuses. “I’m spending time with my favorite people in the world. What could be better than that?” Not much.

Fall ’14 Seasonal Inspiration (part 1)

filed in Behind the Scenes, Inspiration

Each season we are inspired by something unique. It may be an era, a place, or a moment in history. This fall, we had a novel idea. We looked to the written word. Namely, our best-loved books. We all agreed, there’s no better escape then getting lost between the pages of a great adventure. Books have the capacity to transport us. They make us feel brave. Bold. Heroic. Alive.

Each of our designers chose a cherished novel, from Pride and Prejudice to the Catcher in the Rye, pulling a symbol that captured the spirit of the story. So take a page from our book this season. Better yet, take a walk in our shoes and find your story. You never know when your next chapter will begin.

Stay posted as we unveil the inspiration behind this season’s must-have styles.
